Never uploaded a pic of this yet, huh...

This is a close-up of the lace I made for my Alice costume. I couldn't find anything close to the vintage lace used in the movie (here's a hi-rez pic of the original lace [link] ) so I decided to invent my own.

I was able to find some battenburg lace tape (hard to find as it's not really produced anymore), and by folding it in half and playing with the gather of it, I was able to make these flowers. I invented my own little stitch to hold them together and allow the black velvet lace to run through the tops of the flowers, and I applied them to a netting, which was sewn onto a little undershirt. If and when I get around to it, I want to add more lace flowers to the armholes and a little vining detail, because I think there was a bit more going on under the sheer top of the dress.
