Alice Inspired Purseby ~Verdaera

Artisan Crafts / Costumery / Props & Accessories

I made this purse to go with my Alice costume since Alice doesn't have any pockets, but I need to carry stuff at conventions.

The shape of the purse is meant to be roughly tea-pot shaped. The outer shell is made from silk satin with a gathered overlayer of silk organza, meant to be reminiscent of the gathering in the skirt. It is piped like the bodice, and I custom-designed the flap design from the skirt embroidery. The interior is lined with a polyester stripe fabric in similar design to the petticoat. It features an interior pocket that will fit several cards, and closes with a white magnetic clasp.

I am thinking of making a few more of these to sell after Dragon*Con (Early September '10). When I have them ready to sell, I'll make an entry on my front page and link this deviation.
