Jedi Undertunic, Pants + Boots by Verdaera Jedi Undertunic, Pants + Boots by Verdaera
The base of my Jedi costume is done and now I can start on the fun part!

The pants pattern I drafted myself... I took my Endor Leia pants pattern, and the initial Jedi pants pattern I made and merged them to eliminate problems with each, and I think I finally have the perfect pants pattern for me! I'm happy with how they turned out.

I made the pants out of a stretch cotton sateen. I chose not to do front fly stitching, flat-fell seams or a button closure so they would be more Jedi than "Earthly". The undertunic is the one I deviated earlier, made of poly jersey knit, with pintucks at the neck and armwraps. It is also a bodysuit so it stays tucked in the pants. I figure if I'm wearing the tunic and obi and my undertunic becomes untucked, it would be quite uncomfortable. The boots were a steal, they were originally $100 leather boots I got on sale for $30 at Famous Footwear. Thankfully they are so dark you can barely see the zipper, but I will probably make leather bootcovers later to up the Jedi-ness of them.

Not specifically, just some boots I found at a department store :) Wish I could find some zipper-free boots!

Sweet! :D it's awesome the amount of work you've put into this; I've never been much good with a needle ^^; Now all you need to do is come to the Dark Side...

Hey would you mind if I did a photomanip of this? :aww: just make the lightsaber turned on and stuff.

It looks great and I'm really enjoying seeing it come together, but I'll be honest...

It's a bit hard to pay attention to the costume itself due to the model wearing it. :eyepopping::blushes:

I have to say, though. You have WAY more talent than I'll probably ever have when it comes to sewing. I'm managing okay on my current project (a new Bible case), but that's because it's all simple straight lines with no fancy stitches involved. Well, unless you count a pocket that's flush with three of the sides but entirely separate from the rest of it... THAT is a bit of a headache to sew.
