Purple Packing Gown Concept

Here's an older one I found...

I did this one before Celebration 3... There's a concept art of Padme's Gray Packing Gown, an early version where it's purple, so I decided to make the concept art gown (pictured on the right) It was made with silk dupioni (it looks more like the concept art color without the lighting on it) and something called Cloud9 Jacquard. I designed a version of the Naboo Symbol for the front and appliqued that on. I wanted to get metal arm bands, but I couldn't find any, so I put bead swags on. I didn't have time anyway, but I decided to leave the high neck off it, it looked better on me this way anyway.

Now that I'm better at sewing I might redo this... I made the bodice too long, and I ordered what the site labeled as boning but I figured out later that it was Hoop Steel... didn't have experience with boning at this point.

This picture was taken at the Celebration 3 costume contest... and I wish this picture I was standing over a bit... that's Warwick Davis behind me, MCing the contest!
